Positive Minds

A collaborative project between Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and Futuretrend Technologies
Positive minds putting the clients first

About Us

Positive Minds is a jointly venture between Futuretrend Technologies Ltd and the Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust. Futuretrend is an active and established provider of business and ICT services in the area that is collaborating with the Trust for the joint delivery of this project.

A particular focus for this project will be e-business. There are many elements of e-business (email, website, e-commerce, e-marketing, etc) that lend themselves to the target audience and new start-ups in general. Beneficiaries will receive expert training and knowledge in e-business and the project will develop effective business websites as part of the support. Where applicable, a fully functional e-commerce website will be developed for the beneficiary. The project will also provide a graphic design service and provide beneficiaries with corporate stationery (letterhead, business card and leaflet) to enable the business to start marketing activities.

The project will tackle self-employment issues primarily. Users of mental health services face particular difficulties in gaining employment, and the project will include teaching new practical skills & specialist support in business, marketing, ICT. Equally importantly the project will focus on social skills, confidence building, developing (or rediscovering) a work ethic, etc. Not only will these skills help them to maintain or improve their mental health, but also they will increase their self-confidence, self-respect and dignity, which will encourage them to play a fuller part in their community. There will be ‘on-the job’ training, group work, one-to-one support, formal learning and opportunities for peer-to-peer mentoring. At the conclusion of the project, beneficiaries will have knowledge to manage self-employment and an online business.
